The only time I've ever had a leech on me, it was quite small. I just flicked it off, which I understand is not a good thing to do, as it can leave leech-y bits in you. But I haven't died yet, so I must be okay. :)

Salt will kill the leech, although lemon juice is very effective as it doesn't kill the little sucker.
