Airbus A380 Evacuation in 77 seconds

Ok, so we would have liked to actually see this plane being flown by now, but in the meanwhile have a look at this video of a rehearsed evacuation.

Came across this via The BOOT.

As an anonymous poster there pointed out though:

lucky for them they had

1. No luggage
2. No Kids
3. No old people
4. No people on fire
5. No sinking plane in water
7. No hysterical people
and most importantly, Everybody understood what to do.

Still, it's a fairly impressive routine to watch.

Hehehe... yep, it is quite impressive! I have to mention that in this mock up evacuations there is always someone with a broken arm or some bruises... they must be well paid! Completeley agree with you though, it would not be the same in real life, but it is worth the try! I love when the sterwardess starts clapping to encourage passengers to evacuate... hehehe If I ever have to evacuate an aeroplane in real life I'll try to remember to do that :D I only have 4 more fights to do before I finish my career, so hopefully wont have the opportunity.. Thanks for this blog entry, perfect for airline freaks like me ;P !

Reminds me of evacuating exercises at the building I used to work at. It took 10 minutes to clear 54 floors, and the stairwells were jammed, but everyone came out and was counted and the whole thing was deemed a success. I always wondered what would happen if there was an actaual fire.
